A paedophile who sexually attacked two boys in separate incidents on and near Birmingham ’s Cross City line has been put behind bars.

Damien Gloster, of no fixed address, first sexually assaulted a boy on a train between Barnt Green and Selly Oak on the evening of Saturday, May 11 last year.

Then the sex offender targeted another boy at Northfield station on Tuesday, July 16 last year.

The 40-year-old lured the boy to a woodland area and sexually assaulted him.

In court the Judge described Gloster as a ‘dangerous and predatory sex offender’.

He was found guilty by a jury of two counts of sexual assault at Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday, February 19.

He was sentenced to a total of 10 years in jail at the same court on Wednesday (May 7) – seven years which was then extended by a further three years.

In addition to this he will have a life-long signature on the Sex Offenders Register.

British Transport Police Detective Constable Karl Byrne said: “Gloster is a callous predator who deliberately targeted and exploited young boys for his own sexual gratification.

“The two boys were so brave with their support to the investigation and I really hope that they, and their families, can take some reassurance knowing he’ll be locked up for the foreseeable future.
