Birmingham City will be keeping an eye on developments with Jobe Bellingham after it was claimed that Borussia Dortmund officials jetted into the UK on Wednesday to convince the Sunderland midfielder to join them.

The younger Bellingham has made a name for himself at the Stadium of Light with two strong seasons in the Championship.

Bellingham has contributed four goals and three assists from midfield in 40 league matches for Sunderland, who secured a fourth-placed finish in the Championship this season.

Jobe will play for the Black Cats in the play-offs, starting with the first leg against Coventry City tomorrow, but he is widely expected to move on this summer.

Dortmund, who signed Jude Bellingham from Blues back in 2020, are among the teams interested in Jobe and they are trying to sway the 19-year-old.

According to ChronicleLive, Dortmund manager Niko Kovac, managing director Lars Ricken and sporting director Sebastian Kehl made a trip to Newcastle via a private jet on Wednesday. They then went to meet representatives of Bellingham to discuss a potential summer move worth around £21.2million.

Previous reports have suggested Blues would be due a slice of any Bellingham cash. Blues reportedly inserted a 15 percent sell-on clause when they sold him to Sunderland in 2023.
