This Grade II-listed former banking hall with its own swish cocktail bar is a hidden gem for the most discerning of Mayfairites looking for a little tipple following a trip down Bond Street, befit with towering mahogany bookshelves filled to the rafters with Assouline’s most entrancing offerings. Now, among the volumes of Picassos, Warhols, Bacons and Lichtensteins, it is Gucci that stands proud within its gilded library.

It also called for a gaggle of glamorous society guests of course. Lady Lola Bute arrived alongside half-sister Jazzy de Lisser, with Bute donning a deep-V, tie-front minidress and de Lisser in tantalising tweed tailoring from the house. They were both dressed in all-black, oozing effortlessly cool nonchalance with their shades on.
