A massive emergency services response at a car wash was sparked by two staff members falling ill from sweets, it is understood.
Police, paramedics and fire crews all attended at Super Wash and Super Tyres on Stockport Road in Longsight yesterday evening (Saturday, March 28).

It is believed the incident was initially treated as a suspected poisoning. The Manchester Evening News understands two people ate some sweets apparently given to them by a customer.

Paramedics assessed the pair and they were taken to hospital as a precaution.
The garage forecourt was taped off with emergency services spotted donning hazmat suits as they tried to determine what they had ingested.

Fire engines and ambulances were also seen parked at the scene.
The M.E.N understands there is now a suggestion it was THC or cannabis sweets which caused the people to feel sick.

It’s understood no crime was recorded and no evidence of poisoning was found. Both people have now been discharged from hospital.
The car wash declined to comment when approached by the M.E.N.
