A group of travellers have set up camp at a popular Birmingham park just as the Easter holidays gets underway.
The Friends of Sheldon Country Park posted on Facebook that travellers arrived on the main car park at the weekend.
As a result, the toilets were remaining closed to visitors during the school holidays.
Sheldon councillor Paul Tilsley said officers would be carrying out an assessment tpday, Monday, March 30, with a view to issuing an eviction notice tomorrow.
He said: “It is a constant problem, travellers moving from one park to another, parking up and dumping their rubbish for the council to clean up.”

The Friends group said on its Facebook page: “We have just been informed the travelling community have arrived on the main car park. It has been reported to the relevant team.”
It told visitors planning to visit during the Easter break that the site’s farm would remain open but toilets would be closed.
Birmingham City Council was contacted for comment but said previously: ” Birmingham City Council is committed to actively protecting its land and will take steps to recover this land where unauthorised encampments encroach upon it.
“The council has useable transit sites and plots for use by the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller community – which is in line with Government policy – and details of the Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation assessment carried out and updated in 2019 can be found on our website.”
