Lisa Forrest rattled two goals past Rangers in a blistering 90-second spell at Fir Park to secure the Sky Sports Cup for Glasgow City.
The 19-year-old netted the opener from a Lisa Evans corner before burying a 20-yard rocket just over a minute later.
Gers striker Katie Wilkinson pulled a goal back with a minute to go, making for a nervy finale before City lifted the trophy for the first time since 2015.
It is also their first silverware since 2023, with Forrest thrilled to play a pivotal role in securing the spoils.
The teenager – sister of Celtic’s most decorated player, James, plus Hearts winger Alan – has featured in every City game this season and savoured the cup celebrations.
She said: “It is the best moment of my career. The last time City won the league, I had just signed my first professional contract. So to be part of the first team and be involved so regularly makes it feel different.
“It is just an incredible moment. I was so happy when I saw the ball hit the back of the net. The first was something we have practised in training, so it was great that it came off. The second one came because my team-mates are always on at me to shoot more. I saw it opening up and I just thought I’d have a go.”

She said there was no pre-match advice from James or Alan but Forrest is claiming the bragging rights now when it comes to goals in the family.
The youngster added: “I speak to my brothers about normal stuff rather than football but they wished me good luck before the game. I am sending my goals, though. And, yeah, definitely me [when it comes to the best goal!]” City manager Leanne Ross was delighted to get her hands on the first silverware of the season.
She’s admitted one of the regrets of her career was not enjoying her success more. But while telling her players to savour the moment, they will be back in training on Monday before they play Hibs on Wednesday night.
She said: “We deserved it. We were the better team. I was really pleased for Lisa. She puts a lot of pressure on herself to score goals for this team. She works her socks off and got her reward. She is the only player in our squad who has appeared in every game this season.”
Gers gaffer Leanne Crichton was frustrated with the result and display, while feeling more than five minutes should have been added on.
But she insisted her side have to learn from the defeat as she added: “I was frustrated with the corner that led to the goal. The second was a sucker punch. But we will be fine. This is a young team. The only way you become a winner is by suffering defeat and setbacks. We’re still in two competitions and are excited about them.”
