A police incident in Edinburgh’s city centre saw trams blocked on Tuesday morning. Services were only running between the airport and West End in the early hours of March 31.
Edinburgh Trams issued an update to passengers at around 4.56am, as they apologised for ‘any inconvenience’. Full service resumed at around 5.55am.
The exact nature of the incident is not yet known. Edinburgh Trams said there may be ‘extended wait times’ as they adjusted back to the timetable.
Edinburgh Trams said: “Due to a Police Incident on Princes Street, we are only running from Airport to West End.
“Ticket acceptance is in place with Lothian Buses on services 16 from Newhaven to West End and vice versa. Updates will follow.
“We apologise for any inconvenience to your journey.”
They later added: “UPDATE AT 05:55: Full service has resumed, there will be extended wait times until we get back to our timetable on this Tuesday morning.
“Once again, please accept our apologies for any disruption to your journey this morning.”
Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
