This dramatic video footage captured a canal boat engulfed in huge flames in Salford.
Emergency services were called to the fire on the boat on the Bridgewater Canal in the Boothstown area on Saturday evening (March 28). Footage showed the boat fully alight with large flames and plumes of smoke billowing from the scene.
Firefighters were then captured using hoses to extinguish the blaze. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a large fire service and police presence on Vicars Hall Lane amid the incident.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers were called to the scene over a ‘suspected arson’ on a canal boat. An investigation into the incident is now underway.
The GMP spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of suspected arson on a canal boat on Vicars Hall Lane (Sat 28 March). Enquiries are ongoing.”
