Glenn Murphy and Molly Hayes suffered from extreme anxiety before discovering running was their saviour. Now they’re helping others by posting about their experiences on social media

When Glenn Murphy laced up his running shoes for the first time in late 2018, his aim wasn’t to ultimately run a marathon or start clocking up the miles at quicker speeds – he just wanted to get past his front door and go more than a few short steps from his home.
At this stage, Murphy (35) was in his tenth year of struggling with a severe anxiety disorder called agoraphobia.
