“This game takes and it takes… the game’s finally giving me something back!” Apple TV has unveiled an official trailer for a new sports comedy series called Stick, which they’re hoping might be the next big hit following Ted Lasso. It has potential! The series is described as a “heartfelt, feel-good comedy about a found family and their relationships set within the world of golf as it has never been shown before.” Also kind of funny this arrives right around the same time as Netflix’s Happy Gilmore 2 this summer. Owen Wilson stars as Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After the collapse of his marriage and getting fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store, Pryce hedges his bets, and future, entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom named Santi. The cast includes Peter Dager, Marc Maron, Mariana TreviƱo, Lilli Kay, Judy Greer, and Timothy Olyphant, and also features guest appearances from golf superstars such as Collin Morikawa, Keegan Bradley, Max Homa, Wyndham Clark and more. This looks properly fun and amusing. Who knew golf could be this entertaining?
