Four men will appear in court today following a disturbance between men armed with knives in Belfast.

The incident happened on the Lisburn Road on Wednesday afternoon.

One male needed hospital treatment for serious injuries.

Police said a 27-year-old man has been charged with affray.

A 30-year-old man has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, affray and wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

A second man aged 30 has been charged with possessing an article with a blade or a point in a public place and affray and a 33-year-old man has charged with possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, affray and wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

They are expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court today.

Earlier this week police said one man attended hospital for serious injuries to his arm and hand and has since been discharged.
