A beloved Birmingham independent restaurant is celebrating after announcing a brand new branch at Resorts World.

The Indian Streatery is a firm favourite on Bennetts Hill and its new venue will run alongside it, taking its street food flavours to the NEC side of the city.

The restaurant is known for its authentic Punjabi food, Indian tapas and street food and it promises to take its same high quality to the new spot, in walking distance of the BP Pulse LIVE arena.

The restaurant has been on Bennetts Hill since 2017 and in recent years made headlines when the Prince and Princess of Wales visited for food.

Announcing the new opening, the restaurant wrote: “THE SECRET IS OUT! Resorts World is the Midlands’ outstanding entertainment experience for global artists and visitors alike at BP Pulse LIVE.

“Resorts World is pure luxury and now Team Indian Streatery are joining its line up!

“After months of planning, building, and tasting (the important part), we’re excited to finally say it out loud: The Indian Streatery will be arriving at Resorts World.

“This new space will have everything you love about us – but with a few things you won’t find at the original.”

It said it would be creating exclusive new dishes just for the new branch and that it would be introducing a rotating lineup of locally brewed craft beers.

It also promised to keep the independent family-run spirit that had helped sustain it on Bennetts Hill.

Addressing followers on social media, it added: “Opening a second site in the iconic Resorts World is a big moment for us, and we honestly couldn’t have done it without the support you’ve shown since day one.

“We can’t wait to open the doors and welcome you in.”

The restaurant will open in spring.

We’ll share an open date with you as we get it.
