The former Pizza Hut in Eastfield Way has been closed since October last year, but now looks set to become a Wingstop restaurant.
The well-known restaurant chain Wingstop – famed for its chicken wings – is definitely coming to Inverness.
Highland News & Media first broke the news last month that a newly-lodged building warrant appeared to show that Wingstop was looking to take over the site of the former Pizza Hut in Inverness Shopping Park.
There was no official confirmation from Wingstop at that time.
But now job vacancies have gone live through links from Wingstop’s official UK website advertising positions for a general manager and an assistant manager at a “brand-new Wingstop restaurant” in Inverness – and confirming an address in the Inverness Shopping Park in Eastfield Way.
The address, which is listed as “Unit F2” at the retail park, matches that of the former Pizza Hut site.
No closing date appears on those vacancies, so there’s no indication yet as to when the new Wingstop will open.
But fans of the fast food chain’s famous buffalo wings will no doubt be delighted that the firm is definitely seeking to expand into the Highland capital.
The US restaurant chain, which launched in Garland, Texas in 1994, today has more than 1500 outlets around the world. These include seven restaurant and delivery-only sites in Scotland. Most of these are located in the central belt, although there is also a restaurant in Aberdeen. Inverness will take the count up to eight.
