Everton are just days away from bidding farewell to Goodison Park for the final time ahead of their move to Bramley-Moore Dock.
Emotions on Merseyside will be running high as Everton face waving goodbye to their historic ground in L4.
Goodison Park has seen so many memories formed over the years but it is now time for the club to move on to bigger and better things.
Jamie Carragher feels Everton are overdue their stadium move and that can certainly be seen when the club’s finances come under scrutiny.
The financial implications from moving to Bramley-Moore Dock are expected to be a real game changer for the Toffees.
With increased matchday sales and external income being attracted, Everton are set for a £60m revenue boost from their new ground.
And the news could be about to get even better for the club as the Friedkins look set to make another big announcement on Merseyside.

Everton have huge plans to send off Goodison Park following the game against Southampton in a couple of weeks’ time.
However, the plans for what will happen to the historic ground after that have remained uncertain.
It is now being reported by some around the club that Goodison is set to remain and become the new home for Everton Women’s side.

It has also been announced that Everton’s U21s will no longer be playing their home games at Haig Avenue, the home of Southport.
Speaking to Everton News, TBR Football’s Finance Expert Adam Williams has shared his initial thoughts on what continuing to use Goodison could mean for the Friedkins.
“I think there are a number of benefits to this plan, not least keeping the material connection to Goodison Park alive,” Williams said.
“I suspect that a lot of fans that might not previously have gone to watch the women’s team now will. Goodison will be the extra draw and one which the club will hope can be an entry point to women’s football for some supporters.
“In terms of building the brand of the women’s team in and of itself, there might be more benefits to playing at Goodison too. It distinguishes them more from the men’s team. I’ve seen some people suggest it might reduce the emotional significance of the send-off for Goodison against Southampton. Instinctively, I don’t think that’s the case, though I can’t speak for Everton fans.”
Even Moyes is excited to make the move to Bramley-Moore Dock this summer with the Toffees set to be handed a fresh start this summer under their new owners.
Everton will be financially backed by the Friedkins when the transfer window opens, but the plans to keep Goodison Park alive will have greater benefits for other aspects of the football club.
“Financially, if Everton Women can start to get a few five-figure attendances, it’s going to benefit the club as a whole. At the moment, they’re averaging about 2,000. We’ve seen at Arsenal and a couple of others that if you’re creative with ticketing and marketing that you can get games that do big numbers,” Williams added.
“The cash itself would presumably be reinvested in the women’s team. The women’s team runs at a loss as it stands, albeit a far, far more modest one than the men’s. The focus will be on eventually turning that into a profitable venture and giving them a platform for sustained success on the pitch.”
How keeping Goodison Park could boost PSR at Everton
There is no hiding the financial difficulties which Everton have been put through over recent years with Farhad Moshiri at the helm.
The expectation is the Friedkins will land on Merseyside with a considerably better outlook on the club’s finances.

“With the Premier League expected to introduce a new revenue-based PSR system from 2026-27, any extra turnover generated by the club as a whole is good news for the men’s team too,” Williams told Everton News.
“The system is expected to cap men’s team spending on agents, transfers and wages at 85 per cent of revenue. Everton Women generated £3.1m in turnover last year. Let’s say they double that in a few years at Goodison to £6m. 85 per cent of that is £5.1m. That’s £5.1m extra that Everton men could theoretically spend on the squad without breaching PSR.
“Significantly, there is no equivalent of PSR in the women’s game, so the Women’s team could simultaneously keep the money they earn while also giving the men’s team more headroom under the spending rules. You have to distinguish PSR headroom from actual cash here.
Everton will see a lot of PSR benefits come from Bramley-Moore Dock and the club are looking to extract every last penny they can from their huge investment.
Like many other clubs across the league, Everton are eyeing a lucrative stadium naming rights deal with companies like Qatar Airways being mooted as an option.
“Another thing – the more money Everton women generate, the higher their value as a business. As we’ve seen with Chelsea and the intra-company sale of their women’s team, that can be a huge PSR workaround. Assuming the Premier League don’t close that loophole, that could be another potential PSR benefit from this.”
