A podcaster who received a letter from Meghan Markle has revealed the story behind it and why she thinks it was genuine. Amanda Hirsch, who runs the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, received a letter from The Duchess of Sussex, 43, after taking to social media to air her concerns about Meghan’s Netflix show “With Love, Meghan” before it hit the big screens in March.

While Amanda herself did not criticise the upcoming show, she did take to social media to say she was concerned for Meghan ahead of the show’s release as the duchess often received heavy criticism. However, the duchess was quick to reassure Amanda by sending a handwritten note to the podcaster. As reported by the Daily Mail, the letter, written in elaborate calligraphy below the ‘M’ monogram, read: “Dear Amanda, I heard you were feeling scared. Don’t be, this is the fun part. Let’s enjoy it!”

The podcaster has now told Page Six Radio that she was pleased to receive the letter and is now a fan of the duchess, 43, despite not having much of an opinion on her before.

Speaking about the note, Amanda said: “I think it was genuine from her (Meghan). I think she was like ‘don’t be scared, Amanda’.

“That’s what I think. I talked to some people that know her, and they confirmed, they said ‘Yeah, she, it was her idea to write you the note after she saw this’.”

Weeks after receiving the note, Amanda was also sent some of Meghan’s As Ever jam to celebrate the brand launch.

The podcaster is now hoping to have the duchess on her podcast, although no plans for this are yet believed to be in place.

Amanda said: “I would love to have her on the pod. I do feel like, obviously it’s a huge, I’m humble as f*** like don’t think she would ever. But I do have the confidence that we could maybe get a different side of her and I would be so excited for that.”

While Meghan did receive some harsh criticism when her Netflix show first aired in March, viewing figures seemed to be positive, with the show having already been renewed for a second season.

It has not been confirmed when season two will be released.
