A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash.
The pedestrian was walking along Hurdis Road in Shirley, around 8.35am on Friday (May 9), when he was struck by a car.
An off-duty nurse assisted the patient until West Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics arrived.

He was treated at the scene before being transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Police blocked off the road to traffic but it was later reopened.

The incident is said to have happened close to the entrance of Shirley Park.
A spokesman from WMAS said: “We were called to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Hurdis Road in Shirley, Solihull at 8.35am and sent an ambulance and a Community First Responder to the scene.
“On arrival, crews found a man who was being looked after by an off-duty nurse.
“Crews treated the man for serious injuries before conveying him under emergency driving conditions to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.”
