A patient has been rushed to an Edinburgh hospital after a collision on the M8. The crash, which involved two vehicles, happened at around 10.30am on Friday, April 10.
The road was restricted for some time, with drivers warned of delays on Friday afternoon. Images from the scene show a crowd gathering with a car on its roof and debris strewn across the road.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 10.29am to attend a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the M8 between Junctions 3 and 4.
“We dispatched two ambulances and a special operations response team (SORT) to the scene. We transported one patient to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”
A statement from Traffic Scotland reads: “The M8 is restricted WESTBOUND due to a road traffic incident. Traffic is also slowing eastbound.
“Drivers should use caution on approach and expect delays. Current delay approx. 14 mins.”
Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
