'Gang of Coventry City fans attack Sheffield supporter after game at CBS Arena'

Police are investigating after a man was attacked in Coventry. It happened after the Coventry City and Sheffield Wednesday game at the CBS Arena on Saturday (April 11).

In a 22-second clip shared on X, a group of young Coventry City supporters can be seen punching and kicking a Sheffield Wednesday fan near Sydnall Road. Afterwards, they were heard laughing and shouting: ‘Sky Blue Army.’

It is not currently known whether the Sheffield Wednesday fan was injured. Detectives are reviewing the clip to identify those involved.

Anyone with information is urged to contact West Midlands Police. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We are investigating after a man was assaulted following an altercation with a group of people near Sydnall Road in Coventry on Saturday (April 11).

“We are aware of a video circulating social media and understand the concern it has caused and are reviewing it as part of the investigation.
