There are more than 70 road closures this year, with buses and cycle paths also affectedRunners will pass some of the city’s most iconic landmarks(Image: Great Bristol Run)
The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run returns this weekend and will see some 23,000 runners push themselves to the limit to run the ‘super scenic’ 10K and half marathon routes.
This year’s programme of running events spans across both Saturday and Sunday, with (for the first time ever) a standalone Junior and Mini Great Bristol Run taking place the day before the main events.
We’ve compiled a list of all of the road closures in place this weekend as part of the events below, split into both event days.
The 10K and half marathon on Sunday (May 11) requires the most road closures, while the Junior and Mini Great Bristol Run on Saturday (May 10), which starts and finishes on College Green, will see a small number of road closures between 7.30am and 11.30am to support the younger participants completing the 1.5km and 2.5km routes.
Some roads will be closed from as early as 4am or 6am, with some areas also seeing parking suspensions in place from midnight on Saturday, May 10.
‘Vehicle uplift’ will be in operation, event organisers say, particularly in high priority areas – these are marked out in the list below.
If your vehicle is uplifted, it will be moved to Portwall Lane Car Park, or the SS Great Britain car park depending on which is closest. Pedestrian and emergency access will be maintained to all properties throughout the event.
We’ve also included a list of cycle routes affected, as well as bus route diversions this weekend.
