All over Scotland, there are high-end hotels where people can spend a night or two if they want to feel a touch of luxury. A few of these venues have even welcomed some of the most famous stars in the world over the years during trips to Scotland.
One such hotel is Mar Hall, which is a five-star golf and spa resort situated within a peaceful 240-acre estate just outside of Glasgow. The resort is home to 74 individually designed bedrooms, among which are eight junior suites, three grand suites, and various spa garden suites.
Mar Hall has previously welcomed A-list celebrities such as Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, and George Clooney. As reported by the Daily Record, the famous faces have enjoyed the hotel’s marble-topped champagne bar, quiet reading corners, and grand pianos.

The classic bedrooms at Mar Hall come with amenities such as 55-inch LCD televisions, complimentary drinks, internet access, and full minibars. Meanwhile, the grand suites include four-poster beds, separate lounge areas, curated artwork, bespoke furnishings, and pool tables.
In terms of dining options, The Dining Room is the main restaurant at Mar Hall and serves up evening meals and Sunday lunches. Evening mains include braised leg of lamb, pan-fried hake, roast chicken, Newtonmore venison, and fillet of lemon sole, while among the Sunday lunch options are roast sirloin and braised cheek of Perthshire beef and pan-roasted salmon.

Meanwhile, The Gallery serves up afternoon tea and features a new bar with doors that open out to the hotel’s gardens. Elsewhere, Sláinte is the main bar at Mar Hall and is home to a signature cocktail book that includes a wide selection of cocktails and other drinks for visitors to enjoy.

The Mar Hall Spa offers treatments such as facials, full body massages, sound baths, and salt and oil scrubs. Other relaxation and leisure facilities at the hotel include an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and steam room, a modern fitness space, and a par-70 championship golf course.

An one-night stay for two people at Mar Hall is available from Booking.com at a price of as little as £185. It currently holds an overall rating of 8.4 out of 10 on the website based on 1,095 reviews, which indicates “very good” feedback from guests.
One visitor posted: “The building itself is a hidden architectural gem. The interior is well preserved with beautiful heritage features, starting from the main entrance to The Gallery and Dining Room. Love the swimming pool with a great ambience.
“The bedroom is modern and top notch for aesthetic, and if you are lucky you might get the view over River Clyde. The spacious room offers a comfy bed for a good sleep, and a luxurious en suite for relaxing. Excellent staff further enhanced the overall experience. Everyone is attentive and caring, and they go all out to help every guest.

“The classic nature of the building is a huge draw. The new upgrades and decor are gorgeous and modern. The interior design and layout is fab and the views are spectacular.”

Another popular high-end hotel in the area is the Ingliston Country Club and Hotel near Glasgow Airport, where an overnight stay for two can be booked for as little as £99 through Booking.com. The boutique hotel is set in a 100-acre private estate and features 32 bedrooms, while there are also 14 lodges—some of which come with outdoor hot tubs and saunas.
The rooms at the hotel all have en-suite bathrooms with showers, as well as TVs, tea and coffee making facilities, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Ingliston also features the on-site Palomino’s restaurant, which specialises in contemporary Italian and Scottish dishes.
The Ingliston Country Club Hotel currently has a rating of 8.5 out of 10 on Booking.com, which, like, Mar Hall equates to “very good” feedback. One previous guest complimented the hotel’s “excellent” location and “extremely helpful” staff, while another claimed the “shower in room wasn’t great”.
