Zara is selling a Jo Malone perfume that is ‘just like’ the fragrance Princess of Wales Kate Middleton wears. It has been widely reported that the royal mum-of-three’s favourite perfume is the Jo Malone London Orange Blossom Cologne.

Jo Malone London is famous for its ‘exquisite’ fragrances and popular candles, but this luxury brand carries a hefty price tag. Kate is reportedly a huge admirer of the Orange Blossom cologne, which first came out in 2003 when Jo Malone CBE was still part of the company.

The scent is described as a “shimmering garden oasis” and “pure delight.” It contains white floral notes of tangerine and orange blossom.

Kate’s admiration for citrus fragrance is so profound that she reportedly chose it as the signature scent for her wedding back in 2011. According to British Vogue, she made sure the aroma from Jo Malone London’s Orange Blossom candles was all around Westminster Abbey during her ceremony. She also reportedly selected citrus-infused Jo Malone toiletries for the bathrooms.

Getting your hands on a bottle of the Orange Blossom Cologne can be costly, however. A 100ml bottle is on sale for £118 on the official Jo Malone website, so it is not an affordable pick for many. Thankfully, there are other ‘almost identical’ alternatives that are more budget-friendly if you want to smell like a member of the royal family.

One such option is available at Zara, which was made by Jo Malone CBE herself. Zara’s Fleur D’Oranger Eau de Parfum is part of the retailer’s Emotions collection, which was created when the high-street fashion brand collaborated with the luxury fragrance expert.

A description of the orange flower, neroli, and ylang-ylang perfume, which comes in a 100ml bottle and costs £29.99, reads: “Created by Jo Malone CBE, founder of Jo Loves Eau de Parfum. A captivating fragrance that combines floral and fresh notes.”

It adds: “It opens with bergamot and orange blossom, followed by a heart of neroli and ylang ylang. Its base offers a soft and sensual finish, ideal for those seeking an expression of modern elegance.”

When the £29.99 perfume first came out, Jo Malone CBE said: “I am delighted to join Zara on this amazing adventure of creativity and collaboration. Our first collection is drawn on the global heritage of both brands, Zara and Jo Loves, using ingredients I have loved for many years. Every fragrance has been crafted with personality and a voice to tell its story in a unique fashion.”

In 1990, Jo Malone CBE established Jo Malone London, only to sell it to Estee Lauder in 1999. She continued to serve as the Creative Director until 2006. Fast forward to 2011, she launched her own brand called Jo Loves.
