An inquest has been opened into the death of Eliza Hannah Chaudhry, who was found immersed in water at Porthkerry Beach in Barry

A young woman was confirmed to have died after being found in the water at a Welsh beach, an inquest heard. Eliza Hannah Chaudhry, who was 21, was discovered immersed in water at Porthkerry Beach in Barry last Wednesday, April 8.
An inquest into her death, opened at Pontypridd Coroner’s Court on Wednesday morning, April 15, heard how Miss Chaudhry’s body was identified by her auntie the day following her death and taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

The hearing was told that Miss Chaudhry lived in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, having been born in Watford.
The senior coroner for South Wales Central, Graeme Hughes, offered his condolences to Miss Chaudhry’s family before adjourning the inquest to a date to be fixed.
