A mum is hoping the power of social media can help find a kind stranger who bought her daughter a birthday present. On Sunday, April 12 Zoey Squires, from Greasby, took her daughter shopping in Liverpool city centre for her birthday.
Lacie-May was turning 11 and wanted to spend her birthday shopping with her mum. When they arrived in the city centre they bumped into “one of the nicest people,” they’d ever met.
Zoey said: “Lace was deciding what to spend her birthday money on. Tony heard us talking, then we got talking about his children. We mentioned we were out enjoying the day for her eleventh birthday, we were shopping then going for a meal. He then asked my permission to buy her a little gift, it was so lovely of him.”
Zoey shared what happened on Facebook in hope of tracking down Tony to thank him. Sadly, she’s had no luck yet and has turned to the ECHO for help.
She said: “He was just such a pleasant, caring soul. We hugged when we left the shop, then went our separate ways. It was so lovely that people still do nice things like this in this day and age.
“I just wanted to say a huge thank you to him. I only got that his first name was Tony. He’s the kind of man who restores your faith in humanity. He was such a lovely, kind and caring person.
“What a heart of gold he has. I’d love to thank him again properly. This world needs more people like Tony.”
