Stage and screen star Richard Kind (Only Murders in the Building, Spin City) is performing a limited guest-starring run as Max Bialystock in the West End revival, until 6 May 2026.
Richard has taken over from Andy Nyman (Ghost Stories), who is back in the show from 11 May.

Richard Kind joins a company at the Garrick Theatre that also stars Marc Antolin (The Band’s Visit) as Leo Bloom, Joanna Woodward (The Time Traveller’s Wife) as Ulla, Trevor Ashley (Les Misérables) as Roger de Bris, Harry Morrison (Beetlejuice) as Franz Liebkind, and Raj Ghatak (The Father and the Assassin) as Carmen Ghia.
A five-star success
Based on the much-loved Mel Brooks film, this new production of The Producers is directed by Tony Award-winner Patrick Marber (Leopoldstadt).
Since opening, it has become one of the most critically acclaimed shows in London, earning rare five-star reviews from The Times, Evening Standard, and WhatsOnStage.
The musical follows the hilarious misadventures of a failing Broadway producer and his accountant as they attempt to stage the ultimate flop – only for the show to become an accidental smash hit!

George Clooney in the West End?
George Clooney may be getting his own starring role in a West End show!
George recently starred in the hit Broadway drama Good Night, and Good Luck based on his acclaimed film. The stage play was a huge critical and commercial success on Broadway, and George has hinted a number of times that the play may be making its way to London.
There’s no official confirmation, but George is apparently willing to star in the show if and when it transfers.
The play’s Broadway producers were Seaview, Sue Wagner, John Johnson, and Jean Doumanian. West End impresario Robert Fox, who died recently aged 73, was also a producer of the New York run.
