A man has been injured after a fire broke out in the toilet of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast on Wednesday evening.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service remained at the scene of the incident on Wednesday night.
The blaze started in a bathroom on the ground floor of the Accident and Emergency department at around 6.45pm.
A number of patients and staff were evacuated from the emergency department while fire crews tackled the blaze.
“One male was injured and we had four pumping appliances there, the area was smoke logged,” a spokesperson for the NIFRS said.
The spokesperson added the incident was expected to be wound down on Wednesday night.

The condition of the injured man is not yet known.
