Yungblud pays teary tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at first Birmingham show since the star’s death
Yungblud has paid a beautiful tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne while performing in Birmingham tonight (Thursday, 23 April).
The rockstar performed at the Utilita Arena as part of his Idols tour, and the return to Ozzy’s home city triggered some touching emotions while he sang the iconic Black Sabbath song ‘Changes’.
Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, had a strong relationship with the Black Sabbath frontman – Aston-born Ozzy became both a mentor and good friend of the 28-year-old Doncaster musician.

As the first notes to ‘Changes’ began, Yungblud said: “You won’t mind if I dedicate this next song to a friend of mine in the sky tonight Birmingham! This next song goes out to Mr Ozzy Osbourne!”
While getting teary eyed, Yungblud admitted: “I have been sh****** myself for days to play this in Birmingham tonight.
“Thank you so much for everything. I will never take this for granted. I love you man.
“I love Birmingham and I promise I will come back here every year until the day I die.”

The song connected with members in the crowd, too.
From screams as the first Black Sabbath chords began, to chants of ‘Ozzy! Ozzy!’, Yungblud’s deeply touching tributes to the Prince of Darkness connected with Birmingham tonight.
Their powerful friendship was proven when Yungblud performed ‘Changes’ by Black Sabbath at the Back to the Beginning show on last July at Villa Park.
He was since given his first Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance at the 2026 Grammys for this very moment.

The pair have also lovingly exchanged gifts.
Backstage at Back to the Beginning, Yungblud gifted Ozzy a cross necklace – something our Brummie rockstar called “so f****** cool.”
The young singer revealed this was because Ozzy gave him his gold cross back in 2022 on the video shoot for The Funeral, telling him “I hope it brings you luck.”
Birmingham-born legend Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22 2025 – since then, his memory has been kept alive by his family – Sharon Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne, and Jack Osbourne – and loving friends like Yungblud.
Before his gig, he was spotted ‘tucked away’ at a pub in the city.
