It’s moving mere metres away

The Oliver Bonas store in Quakers Friars is set to move a matter of metres away. The popular lifestyle shopping brand is currently located on Philadelphia Street along the row of shops that includes the likes of Fat Face, and formerly Apple and Prior.
Hoardings and signage are up just metres away in Cabot Circus, for both Oliver Bonas and Reiss – the latter of which formerly resided in Quakers Friars, too. Oliver Bonas will be situated next door to &OtherStories, however there is no official opening date confirmed yet. The current Oliver Bonas remains open for the time being.
Meanwhile, Reiss will be located next door to The Bodyshop, with an opening date listed as May 2025. A specific date has not been confirmed.
The new additions will join the recently opened Lookfantastic and Uniqlo, as well as the upcoming Boots Beauty and Sephora, and other brand new brands to the shopping destination, including Goose & Gander, Dave’s Hot Chicken, Haute Dolci and Odeon Luxe cinema.

It comes after BristolLive reported that Quakers Friars had seen a vast number of shops and businesses close in recent years. The unit which, until March 2019, housed designer brand Michael Kors, has now sat empty for six years. It was one of the outlets to get the chop in March of that year, two years after the management of Michael Kors announced they were on the verge of closing more than 100 stores worldwide because sales had plummeted.
Cabot Circus at the time said that shoppers could still find the brand in House of Fraser – but that too closed in August 2024, and has since been replaced with the brand new M&S.
In the same year (2024), Ted Baker, which was based just next to Michael Kors in Quakers Friars, closed its doors after going into administration. While just last year (August 2025) the Apple Store closed, with the nearest store now based at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway.

And when it comes to food and drink, three businesses in this once buzzing part of town closed suddenly or announced an imminent final date of trading earlier this year, all within days of each other – Italian restaurants Piccolino and L’Osteria among them. While not much information has been given yet about this development, it’s rumoured to have the aim of creating a sort of ‘Covent Garden-esque’ space, filled with bustling arty venues, eateries and shops.
Meanwhile, Cabot Circus continues to draw in big names in the world of fashion, beauty, shopping and hospitality.
