Two young children have tragically died following a house fire in the Black Country.
A woman and two other children made it out of the property on Mason Street in Wolverhampton, police said.
Firefighters entered the home and rescued the two young children, who were then treated by medics.
But sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency crews, they were pronounced dead a short time later.

West Midlands Police has now launched an investigation into the fire which was reported at around 8.30pm last night (Friday, April 24).
In a joint statement, West Midlands Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Midlands Fire Service said: “West Midlands Police are investigating after two children tragically died in a fire at a house in Wolverhampton last night.
“Officers were called to the fire in Mason Street at around 8.30pm (Friday), along with colleagues from West Midlands Fire Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service.
“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and rescued two young children.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of the emergency services, nothing could be done to save them, and they were pronounced dead at the scene.
“Two other children and a woman were already out of the house before emergency services arrived. They were checked over by ambulance staff but did not need hospital treatment and were discharged at the scene.
“West Midlands Fire Service said fire crews from Bilston, West Bromwich and Bloxwich Fire Stations attended with six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entering the property. After rescuing two young children, they immediately provided emergency care.
“West Midlands Ambulance Service said two ambulances, three paramedic officers, HART paramedics, a MERIT trauma team and a critical care car from Midlands Air Ambulance Charity attended.
“Ambulance medics worked rapidly to administer advanced life support to both children, but tragically, they were both confirmed dead a short time later.”
They added that the area remains cordoned off this morning (Saturday, April 25).
The statement continued: “Our thoughts are with the children’s loved ones and all those impacted by this heartbreaking incident.
“Police have cordoned off the scene as officers work with emergency service colleagues to establish the exact circumstances of the fire.
“Officers remain at the scene today, and we thank the community for their support with the ongoing investigation. The scene is expected to remain in place at the property for some time, which was extensively damaged, as enquiries continue.
