A new Greggs store has opened up at Birmingham New Street station – and it’s a lot bigger than the previous offering.

The bakery chain has swapped to a new unit and opened up shop in the former premises of Boots on the ground floor – next door to its old unit.

It comes with benefits for customers including more selection and even seating space so you can enjoy your sausage roll and coffee and rest your feet while you wait for your train.

The Greggs’ existing grab-and-go shop, near to the entrance facing onto Stephenson Street, had a sign telling customers ‘Our bags are packed. We’re movimg: next door’.

Passengers passing through the station’s ticket barriers, near to platforms one to four, will notice the new shop open this weekend.

Customers were pictured tucking into food at the new Greggs store today, April 25.

It’s situated in a prime location for passengers in the main concourse area.

It’s the latest food shop opening at the busy station, which recorded 36 million passenger entries and exits from 2024 to 2025.

A unit by the Bullring side exit, next door to Popeyes, has been transformed into a branch of Taco Bell.
