Eyewitnesses told of a “bad crash” on Aikenhead Road, close to Scotland’s National Stadium.

A man has been rushed to hospital following a horror crash in Glasgow. Emergency services were called to Aikenhead Road, near Hampden Park, after the alarm was raised at around 3.40pm on Friday, April 24.
Officers were responding to reports of a two-vehicle collision. Ambulance crews attended and a 63-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. His condition is currently unknown.
There were no other reported injuries. Speaking last night, an eyewitness said: “The road is closed due to a bad crash outside the garage. The whole bit across is taped off.”
A picture shared with Glasgow Live showed police and medics at the scene, with the busy road closed at the Prospecthill Road junction. Officers say their enquiries are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.40pm on Friday, April 24, 2026, we were called to a report of a two-car crash at the junction of Prospecthill Road and Aikenhead Road in Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and a 63-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
“There were no other reported injuries. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
