A crash on the Edinburgh City Bypass has caused major traffic delays.

Police were called to a collision on the A720 at Calder at 11.55am on Friday. It is not known how many vehicles were involved at this stage or if any injuries were sustained in the smash.

The carriageway is currently restricted westbound. Emergency services are in attendance, reports Edinburgh Live.

Lengthy queues are starting to build for drivers.

A statement from Traffic Scotland reads: “The A720 is restricted westbound at the Calder Junction due to a road traffic collision.

“Emergency services are on the scene. Traffic queuing as a result with delays approx 13 minutes currently.”

Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
