An ambulance and BMW were left ‘badly damaged’ following a crash in Edinburgh.

Police and paramedics were called to Drum Brae North in Clermiston on May 10, reports the Daily Record. Pictures taken from the scene showed the side of the ambulance badly damaged as a result of the impact.

The wheel could be seen to be hanging off with debris scattered across the road. Meanwhile a black BMW convertible was also pictured sitting off the road and seriously damaged following the crash.

The whole front driver’s side of the vehicle, as well as the door, could be seen to be ripped off as a result. Police, further ambulance crews and the fire brigade could all be seen in attendance.

It is unknown at present if anyone was injured in the crash.

One local said on social media: “[The incident happened on] Drum Brae North. A car hit the side of an ambulance. Everyone is okay. The road is shut for the rest of day.”

Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
