Leeds United transfer target Dmytro Riznyk
Leeds United are pursuing FC Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk.
The Premier League side are unbeaten in their last six matches, collecting 12 points. This has seen them now sit 15th in the table, six points above the danger zone.
Leeds United seem to have started preparation for the summer and have already set their sights on a few players.
This includes the Ukraine international, who joined Shakhtar Donetsk from Vorskla Poltava in February 2023.
He played 112 matches, keeping 53 clean sheets and conceding 101 goals. It includes 21 clean sheets and conceding 26 goals from 37 matches this season.
His Ukrainian Premier League stats this season are as follows:
- Appearances: 22
- Starts: 22
- Goals conceded: 13
- Clean sheets: 15
- Goal conceded per 90 minutes: 0.59
- Save percentage: 68.2%
- Penalties saved: 1/1
The stopper’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed in England, where Leeds United are showing interest.
Leeds United want Ukrainian at Elland Road
Daniel Farke’s side are keen on bringing Dmytro Riznyk to Elland Road in the next window and have made advances.
That’s according to Insider from Pasichnyk 2.0 in Ukraine, relayed by Football 24. They have found out from their source that FC Shakhtar Donetsk received a €10m bid from Leeds United.
The situation is being monitored, without the report specifying or suggesting if either the player or his club are open to doing business with the Whites.
It seems like the English club are waiting for both Shakhtar Donetsk and the 27-year-old’s decision, after submitting an offer.
Riznyk is a product of Ukrainian side Vorskla Poltava and spent 12 years with them before joining his current club. He hasn’t moved outside his country but that could change if he were to join Leeds United.
Farke has Lucas Perri, Karl Darlow, Illan Meslier and Alex Cairns as four goalkeepers at his disposal.
Meslier was the No.1 at Elland Road but lost his place and didn’t make an appearance this season. Last month, Sport Witness relayed news the Frenchman’s situation at Leeds United is causing concerns in his country.
Darlow, Meslier and Cairns have their contracts expiring in June. If one of them were to leave, the Ukrainian could possibly replace him.
Contract, value and agent info
Dmytro Riznyk has a contract until December 2027, and Transfemarkt now value him at €7m.
