A new six-part series is coming to ITV featuring the likes of Richard Armitage and Annabel Scholey.

ITV viewers are in for a treat as a brand-new forensic drama is coming to the broadcaster, perfect for fans of Vera.

Actors Richard Armitage and Annabel Scholey play Dr Ethan Winter and DI Lauren Bell in the upcoming six-part series, Winter.

The ITV drama, which is set to air later on this year, follows a brilliant but unconventional forensic pathologist at the centre of a compelling crime drama.

A synopsis reads: “Set in Bristol, the series follows Dr Ethan Winter, one of the most

gifted pathologists of his generation, whose exceptional analytical ability and instinct for reading victims make him an invaluable asset to murder investigations.

“His unorthodox, rule-breaking methods bring him into partnership with DI Lauren Bell, a meticulous and driven detective. Together, they form a formidable team, combining forensic insight with sharp investigative work to solve complex cases.”

Throughout each episode, viewers will witness a self-contained crime, while a deeper serial narrative unfolds.

Haunted by an unsolved murder of someone that was close to him, Dr Ethan Winter is conducting his own unofficial investigation., However, the dangerous pursuit threatens to consume him.

Also joining Richard and Annabel in Winter will be Jamie Kenna, best known for starring in House of Dragon and Brassic, Carlotta Banat from Heads of State and 3 Body Problem along with Josh Barrow from Hostage, Vera and Dear England.

ITV viewers will also see the likes of Adwoa Akoto, Jay Taylor, Rishi Rian, Deirdre Mullins Ellis Elijah and Evie Coles in the six-part series.

At the start of the year, ITV shared images of Richard and Annabel at the read-through of the new drama as the pair were seen smiling at the camera.

People were quick to comment on the snap, with many sharing their excitement for the new crime drama as one person said: “Cannot wait for this one.”

Someone else wrote: “It’s going to be brilliant, I can’t wait.” Another commented: “Oh, this will be good – much like Red Eye, which was fantastic.”

One person shared: “Wow, two favourites in one programme, can’t wait.” While another commented: “Hope it is as great as Red Eye.”

Filming for Winter kicked off in February in Bristol and Belgium and has been adapted by David Allison and Mark Greig.
