A vehicle has gone up in flames on the Edinburgh City Bypass.
Drivers heading onto the A720 saw huge plumes of black smoke near The Gyle. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at around 10.44am on Sunday morning.
Footage shared with Edinburgh Live shows flames engulfing the vehicle, which is unrecognisable. Motorists reported a lane closure in place as emergency services attended.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service told Edinburgh Live: “We are in attendance of a vehicle fire on the Edinburgh City Bypass.

“We received the first report at around 10.44am. Two appliances were dispatched.”

Alan Rennie, who witnessed the blaze, said: “Everyone fine, looks like driver managed to unhook and move in front of camper out the way.”
Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
