A devastated family has paid tribute to a Gwynedd dad who died “doing what he loved”. Roger Hawcroft sadly died following a collision in Mynytho on Saturday (April 25).

In a tribute to him, they said: “Dad died doing what he loved, in the place he loved, with the sun on his face and the sea by his side.
“As devastatingly sad as we are, he wouldn’t have wanted it to be any different and neither would we.
“We know how many people were there to help him on the day, both professional and not, and we want you to not only know how thankful we are, but that we are peaceful, and we wish nothing but the same for every single other person that was involved.
“Our wonderful mum is praying for you and always will be.”
Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a red VW Polo and a black Yamaha motorcycle on the B4413 at around 3pm last Saturday.
Serious Collision Investigation Unit Detective Sergeant Liam Morris added: “I would like to thank members of the public who assisted at the scene following this incident. I am appealing to anybody who witnessed the collision and hasn’t already spoken with police to come forward.
“Additionally, anybody with dashcam footage that may have captured either of the vehicles involved prior to the collision should contact police.
