Ibrahim Osman has been given the all clear to finish his Birmingham City loan at Portsmouth on Saturday.

Blues take on Pompey at Fratton Park (12:30pm) in their final match of the Championship season.

Chris Davies’ side can finish anywhere between 12th and ninth and anything but a defeat would give Blues their best Championship points tally since 2011/12.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Davies confirmed Os man had followed concussion protocols after sustaining a head injury against Preston and is set to return to the squad.

“There’s no injury concerns and Osman is available,” said Davies.

Davies will be pondering whether to reinstate Osman on the left-wing after an improved performance from Demarai Gray in his absence. Gray grabbed an assist and hit the woodwork with a free-kick in last weekend’s 2-1 win over Bristol City.

Osman has been one of Blues’ stand-out performers since January though and Davies has outlined his desire to bring the 21-year-old Ghanaian back to St Andrew’s for next season.

Discussing the prospect of re-signing Osman last week, Davies said: “The best place for him is somewhere he’s loved and is going to play, get minutes and keep growing. I’d love him to come back but there’s a lot of moving parts there so we’ll see.”
