Firearms police uncovered a cache of weapons during a raid at a house in Reddish.
Our exclusive pictures show officers at the property at Brackenside on Wednesday morning, where cops executing a search warrant say they found ‘several firearms, ammunition and a crossbow’.
A man in his 50s was arrested under the Firearms Act, interviewed and later released on bail pending further enquiries. A statement from Greater Manchester Police said work was underway ‘to identify the legality of each of the firearms’.
The raid was part of a huge two-day operation across Stockport conducted by GMP, Op Rimini.
Drugs and an off-road bike were seized following a raid in Woodley following concerns from residents about drug dealing and antisocial behaviour.
In Stockport town centre, officers conducted high-visibility patrols, made a series of arrests and conducted stop searches. Four people were arrested for shoplifting, possession of Class C drugs and failing to provide details following a vehicle stop. One person was arrested for recall to prison.
Five vehicles were stopped and two drivers were reported for driving offences. One vehicle was seized after officers discovered it was displaying false plates, had no insurance, an MOT that expired three years ago and defective tyres.

Cops also located a ‘high-risk missing child’ at Stockport Interchange.
Following the two-day op, Inspector Jason Holmwood said: “The results of the past two days demonstrate the impact of focussed, intelligence-led policing and high visibility patrols across Stockport.
“Responding to community concerns, gathering intelligence and working with partnership with others allows us to disrupt serious criminality, anti-social behaviour and protect vulnerable residents, making Stockport a safer place for people to live, work in and visit.

“We will continue gathering intelligence and working closely with the community to detect and disrupt criminal activity, deter anti-social behaviour and protect vulnerable members of the community.”
