“Once we heard that David Morrell, his fight with Smith [was off], and Smith had to pull out because of injury, my dad went crazy on social media and started saying, ‘Give him to my son, give him to my son, my son’s the best super middleweight, the best light heavyweight in Great Britain…’ And then a week after that, we got a phone call from management saying, ‘Listen, we can make this fight happen.’ They want it as well. So that was three weeks ago. “And it was like, cool, we’ve asked for it. Let’s do it.”
