The second Bristol Popeyes restaurant has confirmed its opening date – and it’s just over a week away.

Popeyes, which opened its first site in Bristol in April 2025 at Avonmeads Retail Park, with some customers having queued overnight to be first in line, will open next Friday (May 8).

Its new restaurant is located on Union Street in Broadmead and, to celebrate the opening, the first 100 customers on opening day will enjoy a free Deluxe Chicken Sandwich, with the first three receiving free Deluxe Chicken Sandwiches for an entire year.

Following the huge response to its Avonmeads launch – which saw fans queue overnight and for more than 20 hours to be among the first through the doors – the brand says it is set to bring that same level of excitement to the heart of the city.

The first 50 people in the queue will also get an exclusive Popeyes t-shirt.

The new location will give Bristolians access to Popeyes signature ‘shatter crunch’ chicken and its full New Orleans-inspired menu. With dine-in and takeaway options available, customers will be able to enjoy fan favourites such as the iconic Chicken Sandwich, Tenders, Signature Wraps and Hot Wings.

The restaurant will also serve Popeyes breakfast daily from 8am, offering a menu that brings a New Orleans twist to British breakfast classics, including breakfast rolls, muffins, biscuits and Cajun Hash Browns.

A breakfast meal deal will also be available via the Popeyes UK app. The breakfast range has already attracted strong reviews, with Metro recently describing it as “even better than McDonald’s”.

Popeyes UK will also offer student discounts through platforms including UNiDAYS and Student Beans, providing added value for those looking to try the menu.

Tom Crowley, CEO at Popeyes, UK, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be opening in Bristol Broadmead and bringing Popeyes right into the heart of such a vibrant city. As my hometown, it’s a particularly special one for me. There’s a real spirit in Bristol that feels close to our roots in New Orleans – a shared love of music, flavour, and those moments where people come together to celebrate, connect and enjoy great food.

“Following the immense response to our Avonmeads opening, we’re looking forward to welcoming even more customers to our Bristol city centre location, so even more Bristolians can try the bold flavours and fresh quality that Popeyes® is famous for.”
