Police have arrested an 18-year-old man after two cars were broken into in Armagh.

Officers have appealed for information about the incident.

At around 11.05pm on Saturday night, the PSNI received a report that two cars were broken into.

One vehicle was a black Audi parked outside a home in the Drumbreda Avenue area of the city. From this, a sum of money had been reported stolen.

In the Loughgall Road area, a white Volkswagen Golf had an electronic device stolen from it.

The suspect then made off on foot towards the direction of St Brigid’s Hill.

“Officers attended and located the suspect. Following a short pursuit on foot, an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft from vehicle and possessing article with blade or point in public place,” stated Inspector Lawson.

“The man remains in police custody at this time.

“Our enquiries remain ongoing and anyone who has any information or mobile, doorbell or CCTV footage that could help our investigation is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1724 of 10/05/25.”
