Both Delano Burgzorg and Neto Borges are set to return to Middlesbrough after their Bristol City loan spells came to an end on Saturday

Neto Borges and Delano Burgzorg paid tribute to Bristol City as their loan spells at Ashton Gate drew to a close.
The Robins rounded off their season in style with a 2-0 win against Stoke City, with Burgzorg netting the opener in the very first minute — his maiden goal for the club.
Burgzorg spent the latter half of the campaign on loan at Ashton Gate, making 15 appearances, of which just four were starts. Borges, meanwhile, arrived in the summer and featured 38 times, starting on 30 occasions.
Taking to Instagram following the final whistle, Borges wrote: “Grateful, I will take all the memories with me. Thank you.”
Burgzorg, having signed off with a goal, added: “We ended the season with a win. Just wanted to thank Bristol City for having me. I enjoyed it especially the last 6 weeks. It’s been a pleasure.”, reports Teesside Live.
Both players are now expected to return to Middlesbrough for end-of-season reviews before departing on their summer breaks. EFL regulations mean neither will be eligible to feature for Boro during their forthcoming play-off campaign.
Looking further ahead, neither player is currently anticipated to have a long-term future at the Riverside. Burgzorg has two years left on his Boro contract, yet looks almost certain to be offloaded during the summer transfer window. Borges, who departed before Kim Hellberg’s appointment, is also expected to leave, with just 12 months remaining on his deal.
At one stage during his Bristol City loan spell, the club had made clear their wish to bring him back, with Borges himself indicating he was open to the prospect. However, following Gerhard Struber’s dismissal, the Robins’ appetite for turning Borges’ stay into a permanent arrangement is understood to have waned.
