Hollyoaks’ Ste Hay prepares to tie the knot with Rex Gallagher next week – despite the fact he cheated on his fiancé. With the secret that he slept with old flame James Nightingale threatening to ruin the wedding, will Ste get his happy ever after, or could someone sabotage his big day?
“Ro has overheard Ste admit to Leela he was unfaithful,” begins our Hollyoaks insider. “Ste has no idea this ticking time bomb is waiting to go off, but Ro has a giant crush on Rex and won’t think twice about destroying their relationship.

“The twist is, Rex already knows about Ste’s fling and is keeping it to himself – has he forgiven him, or is he planning a vengeful showdown at the altar?”
Having accidentally caught an incriminating conversation between Ste and his sister, Ro knows his love rival slept with ex-hubby James.
Ro had already fallen for Rex before uncovering this indiscretion, and feels Ste doesn’t deserve him following his negative reaction to Rex experimenting with wearing feminine clothes.
When Rex makes an offhand comment, Leela wonders whether he knows about the fling. She tells Ste, who wonders if his other half is picking his moment to confront him.
Meanwhile, Ro chats to Kathleen-Angel about looking out for your mates, leaving the lad determined to spill the beans to Rex. He heads to the garage and almost blurts it out, only to be stopped in his tracks – for now…

“Ro can’t bring himself to blab so he hits the bottle,” continues our source. “Ste is reassured that Rex doesn’t know about James, and everyone’s enjoying a pre-wedding gathering at the Dog. Then drunken Ro bursts in – has he found the courage to come clean?”
The morning after the dramatic night before, stressed Ste is desperate to keep everything on track for him and Rex. That might be easier said than done, as the couple try to navigate a way forward after some dark secrets have been revealed.

Turning to Leela for help, Ste embarks on a mission to make the wedding happen. With guest of honour Diane Hutchinson’s health deteriorating rapidly, and the feud between the Osbornes and Keanes kicking off, there’s more than one reason the ceremony could be derailed.
Waiting nervously, Ste prays he won’t be jilted. Has Ro told Rex everything? Will Ste come clean in the hope Rex forgives him? Or will Rex reveal he’s been aware of Ste’s betrayal for weeks and call it off?
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
