Emmerdale’s wicked Dr Todd sets an impossible trap for Charity Dingle next week, demanding £10,000 to keep her baby bombshell a secret. Already panicking, Charity is terrified that the twisted doctor is dropping hints around Jacob Sugden. Fearing that it’s only a matter of time before her world explodes, can Charity prevent Dr Todd from exposing baby Leyla’s true parentage?
“For once it’s not Charity pulling the strings,” teases our Emmerdale spy. “Dr Todd holds all the cards and Charity is completely powerless. There’s no way she can get her hands on that kind of money – but what choice does she have?”

Charity’s nightmare dilemma comes as the tension between Jacob and Dr Todd reaches breaking point. On the day of her father’s funeral, Dr Todd accepts Jacob’s apology for the way their professional relationship has deteriorated.
Jacob feels guilty for how nasty things have become, but despite Sarah’s concerns, he just wants to move on. And with Dr Todd seeming receptive to his remorse, Jacob hopes they’ve turned a corner…
However, just as Jacob is optimistic that they’ve made progress, Dr Todd implies she knows a secret that could make his life hell. Charity then hears that the medic has been stirring the pot directly in front of Jacob, and loses her cool…
“Charity knows it won’t take long for Jacob to smell a rat,” explains our source. “Dr Todd could blow her whole world apart in an instant just to get back at Jacob, especially now that Todd has definitive proof…”
The doctor reveals she has documentation to prove that Charity and Ross Barton are Leyla’s biological parents. Todd leaves Charity with a jaw-dropping ultimatum: either Charity pays her £10,000, or she tells Jacob and Sarah everything.

“Charity’s being held to ransom by someone even more ruthless than her,” warns our insider. “This isn’t the first time Charity’s been blackmailed but the stakes couldn’t be higher.
“And, to make matters worse, Dr Todd has embedded herself in the village and is even making moves on Vanessa.”
With Dr Todd in every corner of Charity’s life, will she be able to pay up in time? Or can Charity find another way to keep her quiet?
