One saver from Greater Manchester has won a life-altering £100,000 in this month’s Premium Bond draws, as May’s big prizes have been revealed by the National Saving and Investment (NS&I).
Every month, the government-backed savings giant NS&I hands out two jackpot £1million Premium Bond prizes – this month going to savers in Suffolk and Scotland. The first £1M winner in May was a Suffolk saver, who purchased the winning bond – 567VN857011 – in January 2024. This saver has the maximum holding amount of £50,000.
And the second £1M win was bond 643SE292364, held by a saver living in the Highlands & Islands. They purchased the winning Bond in September 2025 and hold £23,500.

On top of the two top prizes of £1M, there were 71 winners of £100,000 in May, including one saver living in Greater Manchester. The Manchester resident won their prize with bond number 513FF673500, purchased in September 2022.

Generally speaking, the higher number of Premium Bonds someone holds, the higher chances of winning big. The Manchester saver who scooped £100k was holding £36,900.
On top of the 71 £100k prizes, there were 143 winners of £50k, 285 winners of £25k, and 712 winners of £10k, with more prizes being handed out in the value of £1,000, £500, £100, £50 and £25.
In the May draw, 5,947,523 tax-free prizes will be paid to Premium Bonds prize winners totalling £376,180,825. This month there were 136,793,028,278 £1 Bonds eligible for the draw.
From April 2026, the interest rate for Premium Bonds dropped to 3.3% – down from 3.6%.
