Goalkeeper Radek Vitek has ended an incredible season on loan with Bristol City and is set to return to Manchester United this summer.

Last summer, Radek Vitek joined Bristol City on loan as a back-up goalkeeper, but he quickly made himself a key player at Ashton Gate.

Bristol City fans fell in love with Vitek, and the 22-year-old ended his loan spell in style.

Vitek won three club honours, scooping the club’s Player of the Year award, Young Player of the Year award, and Players’ Player of the Year award. Now he is set to return to Manchester.

What should Man Utd do with Radek Vitek in 2026/27?

Radek Vitek does not want to be a back-up at Man Utd

The Bristol move was Radek Vitek’s third loan spell as a United player, and his best one yet.

United are in need of goalkeeper depth with Altay Bayindir expected to leave and Andre Onana likely to make a permanent exit after his loan in Turkey.

However, The Athletic report that Vitek wants to play regularly rather than be a back-up to Senne Lammens.

As a result, another loan deal for Vitek has not been ruled out for 2026/27.

However, with United set to compete in four competitions next season, including the Champions League, there could be space for both Vitek and Lammens in the first team.

Is Radek Vitek READY to be playing for Manchester United?

Can he challenge Lammens? Or does he need another loan?

Ineos are set to appoint a permanent head coach, and it seems as though Michael Carrick will be sticking around in the United hot seat.

Carrick and his staff will have a chance to assess players over the summer, and it will be a pivotal period in Vitek’s United career.
