West Midlands Police cordoned off a city road after a blood stained car was discovered.

Officers were called to Millhouse Road, Yardley, around 4.35pm on Tuesday (May 5), after receiving reports that a suspicious looking vehicle had been abandoned.

The road was sealed off while investigation took place.

Enquiries revealed that a man had been assaulted elsewhere and he had made his way to hospital.

His injuries were not said to be ‘life-changing.’

West Midlands Police said: “We responded to reports of a car being abandoned with blood inside it on Millhouse Road, Yardley, yesterday afternoon (5 May) just after 4.35pm.

“A cordon was put in place and further enquiries found a man had reported being assaulted in a different location and had made his way to hospital.

“His injuries are not believed to be life-changing.

“Our enquiries into what happened are continuing.”
