The man fatally injured in an incident in a Staffordshire home has been named as police issue an update on the three people arrested on suspicion of ‘murder’.

The victim of the incident in Hazel Grove in Burntwood on Tuesday (May 5) has been named as Sashon Richards Brown, 32, of no fixed abode.

Staffordshire Police said they were called to the road shortly before 9am to reports of people fighting.

Officers found Sashon Richards Brown with significant injuries.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed they were called out at 9.17am and sent an ambulance, a paramedic officer, a trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic and a helicopter from the Midlands Air Ambulance.

A spokesperson said: “On arrival we discovered one patient, a man.

“Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite their best efforts it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Police confirmed the 32-year-old was pronounced dead shortly after 10am.

And specialist officers are supporting his next of kin.

A dog was also stabbed in the incident and was taken to emergency vets. It remains there in a critical condition.

Two men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of murder.

In an update, a spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: “We are continuing our investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the Sashon’s death.

“Two men, aged 32 and 27, and a woman, aged 33, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody as enquiries progress.
