Voters in Bolton in Greater Manchester have had their say in the 2026 local elections.
Seats on Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council were up for election in the wards of Astley Bridge, Bradshaw, Breightmet, Bromley Cross, Farnworth North, Farnworth South, Great Lever, Halliwell, Heaton, Lostock & Chew Moor, Horwich North, Horwich South & Blackrod, Hulton, Kearsley, Little Lever & Darcy Lever, Queens Park & Central, Rumworth, Smithills, Tonge with the Haulgh, Westhoughton North & Hunger Hill, and Westhoughton South.
A total of 20 out of 60 seats were up for grabs on Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council, with one councillor elected in each ward.
Elections in Bolton take place three out of every four years with a third of all councillors elected each time.
Bolton is a borough council responsible for services like rubbish collection, recycling, Council Tax collections, housing, and planning applications.

Ahead of the election, Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council was under no overall control. Labour led the council with a minority administration with 25 seats.
Polls closed at 10pm on Thursday, May 7, with the count taking place overnight. Results for the Bolton local elections are due from 3am on Friday, May 8.
In total, more than 5,000 council seats were up for grabs across 136 local authorities in England on election day. Mayoral elections also took place in six areas.
