A man has been arrested and charged after a campervan belonging to a Daniel crime clan mum was allegedly torched.
Aileen Daniel’s motorhome was caught ablaze at Bardowie Street on April 6 around 5.15am as her family were targeted on their Possilpark home turf by the rival Lyons gang.
The 44-year-old ex-pole dancer is the daughter of Norman Daniel, who built up a multi-million pound dirty cash empire with his late brother Jamie.
Police have now charged a 21-year-old man in connection with the wilful fire raising in the north of Glasgow. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Aileen, who bought the four berth Berlingo van last year and shared images of it on weekends away in October, previously posted footage of her van engulfed in flames as she hit out at being seen as an ‘easy target.’

Reacting to the clip, she said: “Broke my heart seeing this done to my motorhome. I am a single mum and no threat to anyone, just an easy target.
“I had loads planned over summer, but it’s not happening now. We had only used it twice then parked it up over winter and then it was set on fire on Easter Monday.
“There was nothing I could do and just had to watch. It was heartbreaking, by time firemen got here the whole front cabin was gone.”

The alleged attack on Aileen’s motorhome came after police in Spain claimed to have “dismantled” a criminal drugs gang led by members of the Lyons family. Steven Lyons, 45, who is the spearhead of the organisation, was arrested at Bali Airport on Saturday, March 28 following his arrival from Singapore.
He is currently being held in the Netherlands ahead of his planned extradition to Spain where he is wanted over allegations of laundering £26million. His wife Amanda Lyons was then nicked at Dubai Airport as part of the ongoing international probe. Both face future charges of membership of a criminal organisation.
It further emerged that Rebecca Hayes, Lyons’ sister-in-law, was one of seven suspects cuffed during dawn raids linked to the Lyons gang in the Costa Del Sol last month. She is the younger sister of Amanda Lyons – the glamorous wife of the Lyons boss – who has been described by police as an “active member” of his crime gang.

The Spanish Civil Guard used battering rams to force entry to multiple properties and businesses on March 27. Several Lyons’ footsoldiers were apprehended in the crackdown named Operation Armorum following a two-year investigation into organised crime.
The Daniel and Lyons families have been embroiled in a 25-year long war as they battle for control on the streets in the north of Glasgow. But their feud worsened last year when the Lyons mob joined forces with drugs baron Ross McGill and his Tamo Junto (TMJ) gang.
McGill, 32, was ripped off by Mark Richardson’s crew when they paid for a £500,000 consignment of cocaine using fake bank notes. The Daniel crew chose to side with Richardson.

Daniel family homes have been targeted since turf war began last year. Steven ‘Bonzo’ Daniel, now head of the clan, had his home at John Marshall Drive in Bishopbriggs torched last April.
A nearby property belonging to his uncle Norman at Colston Drive went up in flames on the same night.
Steven Lyons’ younger brother Eddie, 46, and best pal Ross Monaghan, 43, were then executed a month later outside a pub in the Costa Del Sol at the end of May.
Police Scotland insisted the murders were not part of the gang war but the Lyons family have pointed the finger firmly at the Daniel clan. Liverpool man Michael Riley is currently in Spain awaiting trial on two counts of murder after he was extradited from the UK last year.
